County Attorney

Big Stone County is seeking applicants for the position of County Attorney. The office is full-time and located in the Big Stone County Courthouse in Ortonville, Minnesota. Big Stone County has a population of 5,166 and is located on beautiful Big Stone Lake. 

The County Attorney office consists of the attorney and one full time legal assistant. The starting annual salary range is $95,000 - $115,000 paid bi-weekly as earned, based on experience plus excellent benefits. Generous benefits can result in over $1110/month of extra income. In addition to other budgetary items and standard office expenses, the county will pay for the County Attorney’s annual law license renewal, MCAA membership, CLEs and travel, food, and lodging for those events, and a legal research program such as Westlaw. 

The successful applicant will fill the current term of the County Attorney, which runs through December 31, 2022. The position will be open to election in 2022 for a four-year term beginning January 2023. The successful applicant may run to fill the term, if resident requirements are met. Full-time Custodian

Big Stone County is seeking a full-time Custodian. This position will be scheduled to work 40 hours/week.   

•    High school diploma or equivalent
•    Ability to pass physical and extensive background screening
•    Valid Drivers’ License
•    Custodial experience preferred
•    Knowledge of HVAC, carpentry and lawn care preferred
2021 Salary Range: $16.58 - $21.75/hour

Adult Services Supervisor
Big Stone County seeks a full-time Adult Services Supervisor; performs responsible professional supervisory work in the administration of the social service programs in a county agency. 

Minimum qualifications:  1) an accredited master's degree in social work and one year of experience as a social worker; or 2) a master's degree from an accredited college in clinical psychology, counseling, psychology, human services administration or closely related field and one year of experience as a social worker; or 3) a bachelor's degree from an accredited college and four years of experience as a social worker. 

Good verbal and written communication skills and valid driver’s license required.  Previous supervisory experience preferred.  Salary range begins at $61,230 per year. This is a non-union, exempt position. Excellent benefits available.
